Which type of vape kit is right for you?
Every vape kit includes a rechargeable device and a pod or tank, so you have everything you need apart from e-liquid. The main difference between kits is how they are filled and how they are meant to be vaped.
- Pod kits – compact, rechargeable and refillable. You fill the pod with your own e-liquid, usually nic salts, and replace the pod or coil when the flavour fades. The most popular choice for new vapers.
- Starter kits – simple, beginner-friendly devices with a mouth-to-lung (MTL) draw similar to a cigarette.
- Pre-filled vape kits – rechargeable devices that take sealed, ready-filled pods. No bottles to refill, and the easiest switch from disposable vapes.
- Sub-ohm kits and mods – more powerful devices with adjustable wattage and airflow, made for direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping, bigger vapour and high-VG shortfills.
MTL or DTL?
Mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping means drawing vapour into your mouth first, then inhaling, like a cigarette. It uses tighter airflow, higher-resistance coils (0.8 ohm and above) and higher-strength nic salts or freebase e-liquid. Direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping means inhaling straight into your lungs with open airflow, sub-ohm coils (below 0.5 ohm) and low-strength, high-VG e-liquid.
What to look for
- Battery – built-in batteries from around 800mAh in compact pod kits to 3,000mAh and above in larger devices. Most charge by USB-C.
- Draw activation – many pod kits fire automatically when you inhale; others use a button.
- Adjustable airflow – lets you switch between a tight MTL draw and a looser, restricted-lung draw.
- Pod or coil options – check which replacement pods or coils your kit uses. We list compatible coils and pods on each product.
