Which type of vape kit is right for you?

Every vape kit includes a rechargeable device and a pod or tank, so you have everything you need apart from e-liquid. The main difference between kits is how they are filled and how they are meant to be vaped.

  • Pod kits – compact, rechargeable and refillable. You fill the pod with your own e-liquid, usually nic salts, and replace the pod or coil when the flavour fades. The most popular choice for new vapers.
  • Starter kits – simple, beginner-friendly devices with a mouth-to-lung (MTL) draw similar to a cigarette.
  • Pre-filled vape kits – rechargeable devices that take sealed, ready-filled pods. No bottles to refill, and the easiest switch from disposable vapes.
  • Sub-ohm kits and mods – more powerful devices with adjustable wattage and airflow, made for direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping, bigger vapour and high-VG shortfills.

MTL or DTL?

Mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping means drawing vapour into your mouth first, then inhaling, like a cigarette. It uses tighter airflow, higher-resistance coils (0.8 ohm and above) and higher-strength nic salts or freebase e-liquid. Direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping means inhaling straight into your lungs with open airflow, sub-ohm coils (below 0.5 ohm) and low-strength, high-VG e-liquid.

What to look for

  • Battery – built-in batteries from around 800mAh in compact pod kits to 3,000mAh and above in larger devices. Most charge by USB-C.
  • Draw activation – many pod kits fire automatically when you inhale; others use a button.
  • Adjustable airflow – lets you switch between a tight MTL draw and a looser, restricted-lung draw.
  • Pod or coil options – check which replacement pods or coils your kit uses. We list compatible coils and pods on each product.

Vape Kits FAQs

What is the best vape kit for beginners?

A refillable pod kit or starter kit with an MTL draw is the easiest place to start. Pair it with a 10mg or 20mg nic salt if you are switching from smoking or disposable vapes.

What is a pod kit?

A pod kit is a small rechargeable vape that uses a replaceable pod instead of a tank. You fill the pod with e-liquid and swap it or its coil when the flavour starts to fade.

What is the difference between a pod kit and a pre-filled vape kit?

You fill a refillable pod kit with your own e-liquid. A pre-filled vape kit takes sealed pods that come ready filled, so there are no bottles to refill.

What e-liquid should I use in my vape kit?

Use nic salts or 50/50 freebase in pod kits and starter kits. Use high-VG shortfills in sub-ohm kits.

How long does a vape kit battery last?

It depends on battery size and how much you vape. Most pod kits last a full day on a charge, and larger devices can last two or more days.
